Bean Beetle Mating Behavior

The bean beetle, Callosobruchus maculatus, is an excellent model for understanding sexual conflict and an ideal experimental animal for use in undergraduate biology labs. Below, you can see posters summarizing some of the research projects students working in the lab have done with bean beetles. We also use them for several labs in Biology 4502: Animal Behavior. If you’re interested in a project involving bean beetles, please feel free to get in touch with Dr. Bastiaans!
